All proceeds and donations to Ice Fishing 4 Bigs benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities. We appreciate your support of this local organization that is dedicated to igniting the potential and promise of youth in our community through mentoring relationships.
ABOUT
JOIN US for ice fishing and outdoor fun to support Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities, MN Viking Harrison Smith’s charity of choice. This ice fishing event is open to all who choose to participate. Kids are welcome. If have your own fishing gear, please feel free to bring. If not, we will have gear and poles available. We’ll take care of drilling the ice holes. Warm refreshments, snacks, a heated tent to warm up in, and fishing bait will be available.

Check-in anytime between 11am – 12pm. The ice fishing contest starts at 12 pm sharp. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities.
ICE FISHING CONTEST ENTRY FEES
• $20 donation per hole for Adults, 18 +(fishing license required for 16+).
• $10 donation per hole for Kids 17 and under (fishing license required for 16+).
• Extra tip-up holes available for additional donation
• BBBS adult mentors and their kid mentees fish for FREE
PRIZES
• 1st and 2nd place prizes for Adults / 18+
• 1st and 2nd place prizes for Kids / 17 and under.
RAFFLE DRAWINGS
Raffle tickets available to be purchased. Drawings to include MN Vikings, Harrison Smith Autographed Memorabilia and other donated items by local and area businesses.
DONATIONS & ICE FISHING CONTEST PROCEEDS
All proceeds from entry fees, raffle tickets, sponsorships, and/or in-kind donations will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities.
EVENT SCHEDULE
• Check-in starts at the tent between 11am-12pm
• Fishing contest: 12pm to 2pm.
ICE FISHING REQUIREMENTS AND CONTEST RULES
- All residents of MN, age 16-89, must have a current Minnesota fishing license. Adult mentors can help fish with their mentees under 16 years old but cannot fish on their own without a valid fishing license.
- All ages are welcome to participate.
- All fish caught before or after the contest times are NOT eligible to be part of the contest.
- Any type of bait/fishing gear is allowed as long as it’s legal to use in the state of MN.
- There are two age groups for the contest: Adults (ages 18+). Kids (17 and under).
- All fish eligible for the contest will be measured by length. All species are eligible for the contest and all species are treated the same for the contest.
- Catch, Weigh-in, and Release encouraged.
- Prizes will be given for the two longest fish in each age category.
- Entry fees, donations, sponsorships, and raffle proceeds to be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Twin Cities
INCLEMENT WEATHER AND/OR UNSAFE ICE CONDITIONS
If weather or ice conditions are questionable and we will need to cancel, a notice will be posted by 7am on the day of the ice fishing content on the Event Facebook Page. No prizes or drawings will be held or distributed if the event is not able to take place. If event is not held due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, event fees and sponsorships will be considered donation and proceeds will be donated directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities.

FAQs AND MORE INFO
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
1. Park your car at West Crystal Lake Boat Launch (11 Crystal Lake RD W, Burnsville) and walk on ice to the white tent with green balloons.
2. We will also provide rides from West Boat Launch via Gator. Park your car and call/text (612) 237-1576 to get a ride on a Gator from the lot to the event.
3. Drive your car on the lake via West Crystal Lake Boat Launch and park near the tent. Drive at your own risk.
Follow event signs. From there, you can walk to the WHITE TENT on the lake where the event is being held or we’ll also be providing transportation via 4 wheeler and/or a Gator.
What can I bring to the event?
Warm clothes. Fishing Gear. All attendees over 16+ will need a valid fishing license to fish on their own. If available, extra seats and/or buckets to sit on.

REFUND POLICY
No refunds after registration. If you cannot attend the event after initial registration, your registration fee will be considered a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities. Thank you for your donation!
COVID SAFETY PROCEDURES AT THIS EVENT
We recognize there is uncertainty with any group events at this time. We will reevaluate COVID procedures and restrictions closer to the date of the event. We will continue to monitor the situation, evaluate state and local guidelines as the situation evolves in January and February.
- The event will be held outside but social distancing is encouraged and face masks if you choose.
- Holes will be drilled to maintain social distancing.
- Ice fishing poles that are shared will be sanitized between use.
- Individually wrapped food and snacks may be served.
- Hand sanitizer will be provided.
- We encourage you to avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.

Event Liability Release: All participants shall hold free and harmless all tournament organizers, sponsors, or anyone involved in the coordination of this event including but not limited to the city, the county in which it’s being held, its present and former officials, officers, agents, volunteers, charitable organization and employees from any and all liability, assertions of liability, claims, causes of action, judgements, damages, losses, costs or expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, which in any manner arise or be alleged to arise directly or indirectly from any and all activities connected directly or proximately with the ice fishing event you’re participating in. Participant acknowledges photos may be taking turning the event and used to market future events. By registering for yourself or others for this this event, the participant forever relinquishes and effectively waives any and all rights, defenses, and claims whatsoever in relation to this Ice Fishing 4 BIGS event.
